Hello Everyone,
Well a lot has happened since I last was on here, starting with the most important the arrival of our baby daughter a whole week early!
I really cant believe she is here and really thought she was going to be at least a week late!
The contractions started on Thursday night, I thought they were just Braxton Hicks but added some clary sage to my bath just incase.
When I got out the bath though, the contractions came thicker and faster, until we made the phone call to my mum asking her to come to our house to look after our daughter while we went to the hospital.
I really thought they would be sending me home and tutting saying its just braxton hicks, but when we arrived after a seemingly endless car journey (we got stuck at every traffic light in Manchester!) the midwife announced 'Your 4cm!' Whoop! We were instructed to go for a walk round the hospital for an hour to really get the labour going, I can say with every inch of me, I have never hated going for a walk so much in my life! My poor hubby had to drag me round the hospital, with endless relays of 'I cant do this!' until eventually we headed back to the maternity ward and they transferred me to the midwife led unit, where I promptly asked for some pain releif and was given diamorphine. At one point I had really strong urge to push, so I did which ended up
with my waters flying out and hitting the wall opposite! The midwives
only just had time to move out the way....I was very embarrassed haha!!
I will skip now to when our daughter arrived, I was only pushing for 6 minutes I found out later but at the time it felt like an eternity, I just wanted this over with so I could finally meet our little girl!
There are no words for when you see your new baby for the first time, I just cant describe it at all. The sense of relief that they are here and the love that overtakes you is just amazing.
The day after my mum and little girl came to see our new baby in the hospital and our daughter (who was just two the week before) loved her instantly and still the kisses and hugs havent stopped!
I must admit I was worried throughout my pregnancy about whether I could love another child as much as I love our first daughter, and there was honestly nothing to worry about, that love you have just grows!
Its been nearly 3 weeks now since our new daughter arrived and things are beginning to settle down a bit more, and baby sleeps alot longer at night which is just the best thing ever. It is a lot more chaoctic with two children but its also the best thing, knowing they will grow up together and we will be with them all the way!
