Todays Activity: Painting! Product Review

Today we finally cracked open our paint pots and got nice and messy...so messy in fact a bath was required afterwards!

I had purchased the paints, pots and messy mat from Wilkinsons, our store is within walking distance and we do get most of our creative things from there mainly due to the low prices (paint is 85p) and the good quality.
The paint pots (3pack £1) and messy mat (£2.50) are great little essential items at a very low cost.

My daughter chose some Peppa pig pictures to paint today which had been purchased elsewhere, we have had these a while and it was nice to finally use them.
It was a really easy enjoyable activity to introduce mixing colours to make different ones, something which my 3yo really enjoyed, we explored what happened when we added white to the paint, how the colours got lighter, and if we added green or another colour it would get darker.

Faith then explored using the paintbrush in different ways her favourite was using it to make 'footprints' across the page, again exploring the textures and different colours in the paint. We also have some sponge letters which we will be using tomorrow to help with her literacy skills and beginning to recognise all her letters.

I would definitely recommend Wilkinsons for creative and messy play products, the quality is very high without the high price tag. Although I would recommend wearing old clothes when painting as this paint can stain..(I did manage to get it out of my daughters clothes today)

I haven't received anything in return for writing this review, it is simply because I was impressed with the products I purchased and wanted to share. :)
